A Skills Development Fund (SDF) Project that brings together sector based employers, St. Lawrence College, MTO, Transport Canada, and Employment Ontario service providers to develop a pool of job-ready, skilled workers that will meet the workforce development needs of tour boat operators and the ferry service sector.
We are focusing on two streams of participants: the first stream is specific to job seekers (new hires) and the intent of the second stream is the incumbent worker (those who are already employed by the Ferry services or the boat tour companies).
Careers on the Water is a comprehensive two phase program for aspiring and experienced ship crew members seeking an opportunity to advance their skills and careers.
